John is a registered patent attorney with 25+ years of experience handling complex patent prosecution and litigation involving pharmaceutical, chemical, and life sciences technologies, as well as proceedings before the International Trade Commission (ITC).
In addition to advising clients on patent strategy and prosecution, he has managed all phases of high-stakes patent disputes, including developing case strategy, directing discovery, arguing motions and claim construction, and examining witnesses at trial. John is known for integrating deep scientific expertise into litigation strategy, drawing on his background in chemistry to work closely with experts and translate complex technical issues into persuasive advocacy.
John received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Maryland, his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, and his B.A. in Biology from The Johns Hopkins University. He is admitted in Virginia and the District of Columbia and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
